A large renewables business had a need to support a Head Office function and in addition over 60 remote sites, with a range of A3 Workgroup and A4 desktop Multi-Function devices.

Their original set-up included, a range of supported devices at Head Office and a diverse mix of independently sourced multi-brand desktop devices at the remote sites, with no service cover and a rapidly increasing consumables cost, with little to no visibility or controls, due to individual sites buying in an ad-hoc way, from a range of suppliers.

They were looking for a consistent nationwide support and service process, a reduction in the number of different models and brands that they were using and to drive down operational costs.

IOS implemented a fully managed print service for the business, supplying over 60 sites with Xerox Versalink desktops and providing Head Office with a mixture of Xerox Versalink & Altalink A3 devices, as well as some desktops.

The transition was a smooth one, with all remote site devices pre-configured before being shipped to the sites, ensuring they were simply plug and play when they arrived, meaning no set-up was required by the already very busy IT team.

IOS was able to meet all of the requirements and cover all of the locations, many of which were located in very remote areas across the UK.

Only one Xerox multi-function model was required for the remote sites and Head Office only required a choice of two different Xerox multi-function models, to cover all of the devices needed there. By implementing a fully managed print service, devices were monitored and supported in the same consistent manner no matter the location. Significant savings were made, as consumables were included and so ad-hoc spend on an ever growing variety of devices was removed. Service process was simplified and also managed by IOS, with secure portal access provided to the client, for full transparency and visibility of open break/fix or supplies tickets.
